Thank you for checking out my About Me page and reading more about me. I am an elementary school teacher in Bradenton, Florida. The class I teach is unique in that it is one of six elementary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) classes in currently being taught in my district. It is taught as a special area rotation class to Kindergarten through fifth grade classes. I love integrating creativity and art into it. (The students really love that aspect of it, as well.) This is my first year teaching the STEM class, so I am learning as I go. Before this, I taught technology. I also serve as the technology coordinator for my school, and am responsible for maintaining all of the school and staff's technology needs.
In my spare time, I love to tinker on the computer, learn new ways to integrate technology into my classroom (and to help other integrate technology into their classroom), doing photography, graphic and web design, video editing, learning about Lego robotics, serving as a TSA (Technology Student Association) advisor, chilling out on the beaches of sunny Florida, and spending time with my family. When I get any time off from school, I love kicking back and expanding my personal learning network on Twitter. I have found Twitter to be an invaluable resource for educators and for professional development.
